Hi everyone! Well, as I mentioned in my previous post, I am now 5 months old, which means that my mom and dad said I was now old enough to try rice cereal for the first time! Mommy says she figured it was about time, because everytime she waved food in front of me I would try to lunge for it! (Especially apple pieces!). I was hoping my first meal would be something cool like the stir fry veggies I see my folks munch on regularly, but apparently you need teeth for stuff like that. Being still just a gummy little guy, I got stuck with rice cereal with formula. But you know what? It’s good! I got to sit in my very own big boy high chair, wear a brand new bib and use a brand new baby spoon, and my mom fed me while my big brother hovered around excitedly and kept asking me how I liked my ‘Sutter Cereal’. Dad videotaped and photographed the event - I guess everyone was pretty psyched for me! At first I didn’t know what I thought about this new substance being served to me, but pretty soon I was opening up my mouth like a happy baby bird and asking for more! I can’t wait to try the next entree - reportedly, it will be squash or sweet potato! Mmmmm…
Hi everyone! Well, technically I won’t be 5 months old until next Tuesday, but what the heck! This past week I have just really gotten the hang of this rolling thing, and it is my favorite thing to do! If you put me on the floor, I will roll and roll and roll until I either wedge myself really good under a piece of furniture, or get picked up by someone and placed back at my starting position all over again. It’s a great way to get around - if I spot something or someone I want to get to, I just roll on over until I hit my desired destination! Mommy says she wants to cover me in swiffer cloths, so I can help dust while I’m at it!
I have also pretty mastered those things called my hands - they are awesome! You can use hands to grab anything you can reach/pick up, and then unless a grownup curbs your style, you can then place said object in your mouth! Also great fun: when you within reach of a grownup’s face - you can reach out and tweak their nose and pull their hair! How cool is that? When nothing else is around to grab, I am also always very content to just grab my own ear and pull on that as well!
So, I live with my mommy, daddy and a WAY excellent big brother named Decker. Mom and Dad are nice and all, but I really only have eyes for my brother. He is super funny and plays with me all the time - and he was the first one to make me really and truly giggle out loud! (He was jumping on the bed and dancing, and I thought - understandably - that that was HILARIOUS). He brings me toys and pacifiers and tries to get me to talk to him and always wants to help - pretty sweet, huh? So the best part is that now, I have graduated from my bassinette in my folks’ room and am now sharing with Decker! Yup, I’m out of the ‘rents place and am now sharing a pad with my best friend! He seems psyched about the arrangement as well, which is good!
The sun has been out more and so we have been going outside (well, I hang out on my mom’s front in a snugli) so Decker can play. I like being outside, except lately there’s all this green dust flying around and it makes me sneeze and sniffle! So we have to keep it kinda short. But my dad says that’s a temporary thing and pretty soon we’ll get to stay out a lot longer. Yay!
Have a good weekend everyone! Hope you all get to grab a nose or two!

So big brother got to go and see a really cool parade last night. I was stuck at home with Daddy last night. Woo Hoo! All we did last night was to have staring contests, and Daddy can’t win a staring contest if his eye lids were taped open! Lame! I can’t wait to walk so I can join them for the parade next year!
As a side note, I’ve developed a sense of humor. I will now laugh when surprised or when I’m tickled. I didn’t think this was a very big deal, but mommy and daddy sure seem to enjoy making me laugh. I guess I’ll humor them for a while!
Peace out!
S.
